Interfaith Hospitality Network
of Greater Worcester
A division of Family Promise

The Interfaith Hospitality Network is an organization that unites the religious community in an effort to serve and nurture homeless families regardless of income and family structure. Thirty-one congregations, many with assistance from additional congregations, provide meals, shelter and hospitality. Families receive individualized advocacy for housing, employment, and financial issues at the IHN day center. Massachusetts is the 3rd least affordable state in the country for housing and about 20,000 children live in emergency shelters each year. Greater Worcester's IHN has helped over 196 families, over 592 individuals, since its formation in 1997. IHN makes a difference!

Interfaith Hospitality Network Holiday Cards!

The IHN holiday card project was created at United Parish of Upton in 2007 to raise money for the IHN program of Greater Worcester.

The artwork on the cards is created by children who are in the IHN program.

Students of Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School
do the printing of these cards.

This year's cards feature Holiday Card is by 9 year old Wendell and depicts a fun winter scene drawn with markers.

We're also excited to add a charming new "notecard" to our card collection that can be sent year round.

The artwork on this new notecard is a pretty bouquet of pink flowers created with fingerpaints by 4 year old Giovanna.

These cards are fun to send and make a great gift for teachers, friends and family!

Year-Long Transportation Appeal Continues!

Over time the IHN has made emergency appeals to help fund transportation costs related to moving our guests, and their belongings, to the host sites. Without exception, the response has been overwhelmingly generous.
Ron Casavant
is coordinating a year-round solicitation for donations to cover transportation expenses, rather than to wait for an emergency situation. We need your help.

Would you contribute, sometime during the next year, a gas or gift card to IHN?

For example, a $50 donation covers gas* for one week to a host site, and other contributions go to diapers, baby food and other general daily needs. Any amount would be appreciated, of course!

Any questions or comments, call Ron at 508-826-8891

or send gift cards directly to:

Thank you in advance!

* Because of their prices and close proximity to the day center (where the van is parked), Hess is the preferred brand of gas card, if possible (we can use all others, naturally), or any VISA, American Express, etc, based card. Click here for a list of Hess stations in Massachusetts.

All contributions are appreciated by our guest families and are tax deductible.
